Increased expression of markers of tumor stem cells (TSCs) characteristic of breast cancer (CD44, CD133, bmi-1) and increased ALDH activity in zBPS, in comparison with the adherent culture of cells and BPS of the MCF-7 line, cultivated under standard conditions in a complete nutrient medium. A simultaneous increase in the expression levels of CD133 and nestin was determined in the cells of the BPS culture after long-term cultivation. It was shown that the culture of BPS is less sensitive to the action of antitumor drugs: cisplatin, methotrexate and doxorubicin after 48 h of incubation in comparison with BPS cultivated under standard conditions. PPLS (doxorubicin, methotrexate, cisplatin) in combination with salinomycin, an anti-SPC drug, demonstrate a noticeable cytotoxic, antitumor effect. At when using a combination of drugs with a different mechanism of action, the synergistic effect of anticancer drugs with salinomycin is more noticeable than the individual action of the drugs. At the same time, the population of stem tumor cells turned out to be sensitive to the specified effect. When studying the receptor profile it was shown that due to the combination of drugs, the effect was achieved not only on the population of actively proliferating tumor cells, but also on the subpopulation of tumor stem cells (SPC). It was established that cells can acquire stem characteristics and lose them depending on the conditions in which they are found. After attaching to the substrate, the cells acquire the ability actively proliferate, while losing the signs of stem cells.
