The results of such studies make it possible to deepen theoretical knowledge about diseases, improve their diagnosis, and carry out appropriate correction of treatment and prevention. We studied those diseases that are common, difficult to diagnose or have certain geographical features. The report presents the results of a morphological study of lesions of the thyroid gland in the Carpathian endemic goiter region, the perifocal zone of the brain in various types of strokes, congenital and acquired diseases of the coronary arteries in childhood, polyposis diseases of the colon, chronic steatohepatitis and viral hepatitis C, tumor diseases, in particular adenosis of the prostate gland, variants of conjoined twins. The relevance of the topic as a whole is discussed in the introduction. In each separate section, the relevance of a specific problem, the purpose and material of the research, the results and their discussion are described in detail. The material and methods of research in each fragment of the work were different, as patients with different diseases were studied. During the research, available current biopsy, operative, autopsy material and archival data were used - the results of pathohistological studies of biopsy and operative material, patho-anatomical and forensic autopsies.
