A number of previously unknown documents were analyzed and published, which reveal various aspects of everyday life of the Western Ukrainian peasantry, intelligentsia, workers, students, and schoolchildren (1944–1953). The historiographical analysis of the existing scientific researches on the specified problems is carried out. The classification of historiographical sources is carried out, which are conditionally divided into four main groups: diasporic, Soviet, modern Ukrainian and foreign. The absence of comprehensive research on the history of everyday life of the population of the Western Ukrainian region in 1944 – 1953 is analyzed.
