The onset of MS in the form of motor or oculomotor disorders was associated with an unfavorable prognosis, and with cerebellar ataxia, a relatively benign further development of the disease. In patients aged 20-30 years, compared to groups of older patients, a probably lower total number of exacerbations was recorded. The level of disability was probably lower in patients with the onset of MS before the age of 20 compared to people over 40 years of age. The active course of MS was more likely to be detected at the onset of the disease at the age of 20-30 compared to the group where the onset of MS was over the age of 40. These clinical data indicate a more benign course of MS in women, the activation of protective mechanisms in younger people, the activity of the pathological process also at the stage of progression in a significant number of the examined, as well as the malignant course of MS in its late debut.
