The purpose of the work is analyzed of the main trends in improving the processes of continuous casting for increasing their efficiency and improving the quality of the workpiece. The object of research – features of the assessment of the movement of convective flows of metal melt and non-metallic inclusions in the intermediate bucket of the continuous casting machine (CCM). The main methods of research included mathematical and physical modeling, industrial experiment for determination the efficiency of devices for controlling the processes of mixing and refining metal in an intermediate ladle. A comprehensive study of the features of the melt movement process in the intermediate ladle of a single-stream CCM for a micro-mill while ensuring the refining effect was carried out. The parameters of the flow of liquid steel were determined – the spatial distribution of the velocity components, the turbulent kinetic energy in the ladle for optimizing the efficiency of the steel pouring process using the developed devices.
