An analysis of the strategy of radiation control and monitoring of NPP facilities and the need for creation is substantiated and the requirements for a system of this level are formed, the methodology of its functioning and use, its structure and components are defined. 2. The proposed, substantiated and experimentally confirmed method of detecting radiation emissions, which is based on the measurement of probability distribution functions of time intervals between successive acts of radioactive decay at the output of the detector. It is shown that the proposed method allows to reliably detect radiation with intensities ten times lower than the intensity of background radiation, and the use of the proposed method allows to significantly reduce the analysis time and significantly reduce the requirements for shielding the investigated objects and the detector from background radiation. 3. It is assumed that the introduction of new approaches to the assessment of the state of NPP objects during their control and monitoring will allow a detailed description of the current radioecological state, will provide an opportunity to formulate recommendations for the practical application of the specified methods for the radioecological assessment of the territories of NPP objects. 4.
