The purpose of the work is to develop effective chemical-technological and energy schemes for the conversion of CO2 from exhaust gases of coal-fired thermal power plants into methanol. Research methods – mathematical computer modeling of absorption-desorption processes in columns, reactor systems, mathematical modeling of heat and mass transfer processes in channels of complex plate heat exchangers, energy-efficient integration of heat-technological processes. The technological scheme of the CO2 absorption capture system with maximum thermal energy recovery has been developed. Variants of the technological scheme of the methanol synthesis system with maximum energy efficiency and the possibility of heat recovery and thermal integration of technological and auxiliary flows with a CO2 capture system and water electrolysis have been developed. The collection and analysis of information related to the subject of the study was carried out. Approaches to the construction of emitted CO2 capture and conversion complex at thermal power plants and industrial enterprises have been determined. Mathematical models of technological processes have been developed for each component of the complex based on the main hypotheses of the project, and approaches to the construction of the complex have been determined. Special attention is paid to the modeling of processes in plate heat exchangers and the optimization of their designs for the conditions of methanol synthesis and carbon dioxide capture. The main results of modeling processes in the channels of plate heat exchangers are given in published articles. They relate to the modeling of heat and mass transfer processes during condensation and the influence of the geometric form of the corrugation on heat transfer, taking into account contamination on the surface of the plates.
