The subject of the study is the theoretical and practical principles of harmonization of the civil legislation of the European Union and Ukraine, the provisions of the legal doctrine of the European Union and Ukraine, the norms of European and domestic legislation regulating the relevant relations. The goal is to develop theoretical provisions and practical recommendations to improve the civil legislation of Ukraine in accordance with the law of the European Union. The set goal determined a number of research tasks: to characterize the current stage of development of civil legislation and to determine the main directions of convergence in the conditions of globalization in the regional European dimension; to investigate the evolution of the formation of the basic principles of civil legislation of European countries; to determine the general principles of harmonization of civil legislation as a phenomenon of legal reality, to clarify its prerequisites and legislative principles in the European Union; to develop theoretical and practical recommendations for improving the legislation of Ukraine with the aim of harmonization with the law of the European Union. Scientific novelty consists in the development of theoretical and practical recommendations for civil legislation, taking into account the provisions of private law norms of European states and the law of the European Union. The practical value lies in the fact that the conclusions formed are of both scientific and theoretical and practical interest in improving the civil legislation of Ukraine.
