Registration Date 24-12-2022 Organization Lviv State University of Life Safety popup.description2  Research report: 55 pages, 2 tables, 4 figures, 114 sources. eutrophication, wastewater, adsorption, modification, clinoptilolite, glauconite, phosphates, ammonium. The object of research is the processes of improving the adsorption capacity of natural minerals in relation to eutrophicating agents, in particular phosphates and ammonium ions. The purpose of the work is to develop experimental modified samples for tertiary water purification from eutrophicating agents, in particular phosphates and ammonium ions, using an effective and affordable sorbent/sorbents based on natural minerals. Research methods - review of scientific and technical literature, analysis of methods, means and conditions for improving the sorption properties of natural minerals; analysis of the physicochemical properties of the studied samples before and after irradiation in the field of microwave irradiation, thermal modification and exposure to metal-containing chemical reagents; testing the sorption capacity of prototypes under different conditions. Methods for improving the sorption properties of various natural minerals, in particular, thermal and microwave activation, and treatment with chemical reagents, have been studied. Batches of prototypes based on clinoptilolite and glauconite have been obtained. Their chemical composition was studied and their sorption capacity with respect to NH4+ and PO43- ions was established. Based on the research results, a conclusion was made about the most promising material and the method of its modification. The use of materials such as backfills for tertiary wastewater filters will allow efficient and inexpensive treatment of domestic wastewater, preventing eutrophication of natural water bodies.
