VI Vernadsky National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2  Three sets of Fe3O4/CeO2 nanocomposites were synthesized by the deposition of CeO2 "shell" on the surface of the previously synthesized Fe3O4 nanoparticles via three different methods. Detailed investigations of the structural, morphological and physical-chemical properties of nanocomposites were performed by XRD, TEM, XPS, DLS, and magnetic measurements methods. It was established that "core/shell"-like composites were formed in case of using the cerium-organic reagent for CeO2 shell precipitation. It was shown that the appearance of CeO2 on the surface of the magnetic nanoparticles affects positively their properties, in particular, increases their stability against oxidation as well as the stability in the aqueous suspensions presented as the high positive zeta-potential values. The synthesized Fe3O4/CeO2 nanocomposites demonstrated the simultaneous ability to heat up effectively in alternative magnetic field and bioactivity (antioxidant and anti-amyloid actions).
