The main focus is on the uncovering of problems related to the life strategies of various categories and groups of Ukrainian society, models of their behavior and methods to survive in the difficult conditions of war. The determining processes of the initial stages of global armed conflicts are clarified. The algorithm of the functioning of the army environment, moods and models of behavior and survival strategies of combatants, the nature of relations in military collectives are disclosed. An idea of how the everyday life of ordinary inhabitants of Ukrainian towns and villages under occupation regimes should look like has been formed. Social programs and charitable measures aimed at overcoming the life troubles of vulnerable population groups are analyzed, the role of public institutions and social self-organization in these processes is determined. The economic component of the First World War has been recreated. Human and material losses as a result of wars, methods of returning to peaceful life, re-evacuation measures are highlighted. The process of preserving the memory of the events and victims of the First and Second World Wars in the mass consciousness of Ukrainian society, commemorative practices and state policy is distinguished.
