The presented method of research of the combined horizontal clarifier is a continuation of previous studies of various designs of the horizontal clarifier. The method of intensification of the deferization and demanganization processes during the operation of fast filters with granular loading was studied by using classical biotechnological methods, in particular, by introducing cultures of iron bacteria (including selected ones) and maintaining optimal conditions for their growth. The sorption properties of carbonate sludge were studied. The sorption capacity of carbonate sludge in relation to organic impurities, ammonium nitrogen and phosphates was established.
