Firstly, we managed to identify the production of the Belgorod pottery workshops as part of the ceramic assemblage of the site, and also to determine the main directions of the ceramics import into the city during the Moldavian period of its history. As we found out, the ceramics from Constantinople, as well as from the Genoese colonies of Crimea, continued to arrive in significant quantities into Bilhorod during the different periods of the 15th century. It is absolutely new details that were not previously mentioned in scientific publications. We also clarified the chronology and specialization of one of the pottery workshops of medieval Belgorod. It turned out that the workshop worked in the 15th century, and not at the beginning of the 14th century, as it was believed until now. Its main products were stove tiles, but not sgraffito ceramics. In addition, this craft had Central European, and not Golden Horde origins as previous researchers claimed. Therefore, these new data allow us to significantly correct the chronology of the medieval cultural layers of Bilhorod together with the previous ideas about its historical development. Besides, we also managed to find out the chemical composition of ceramic products of two Sudak pottery workshops for the first time. Furthermore, a comparative analysis of the technological and decorative features of these wares with Anatolian ceramics evinces the significant influence of Asia Minor traditions on the local production of glazed ware, which was probably caused by the migration of artisans. In conclusion, we can say that on the basis of our research, it became possible to obtain new historical information about ceramic production, as well as about economic and cross-cultural interactions in the Northern Black Sea region, which can be used both in the field of higher education and for special research in the area of archaeology, history, and ceramology.
