Purolite CT-275 and Nafion NR-50 were chosen as initial ion exchange resins. It is shown that the use of ion-exchange resins in the organic-solvent method of obtaining MCC in a batch reactor requires the use of protective covers for the catalyst to avoid its mechanical damage. It was established that only sulfonated copolymers based on tetrafluoroethylene are stable in the cooking solution, in contrast to sulfonated copolymers of styrene and divinylbenzene, and allow obtaining MCC from switchgrass with a yield of 53% versus 40% for the classical method and a degree of polymerization of 440 versus 578, respectively. The influence of the properties of the used sunflower oil on the quality of the obtained ethyl esters was investigated. The acid number of the ten studied samples was in the range of 0.36-2.10 mg KOH/g, and the water content did not exceed 0.06%. These key characteristics with a margin are invested in the limits in which efficient ethanolysis on potassium ethylate is possible. A biodiesel sample was prepared from the used oil by transesterification with ethanol on ethylate followed by washing of the ester layer and introducing an antioxidant and distillation under vacuum. Gas chromatographic analysis and testing in a certified laboratory confirmed the compliance of most of the sample indicators with the requirements of the standards. A high rate of coking, as well as a slightly lower content of esters, can be associated with the deepening of polymerization during a long suboptimal sample cleaning procedure. As a result of the testing of the laboratory-industrial method of obtaining potassium ethylate, its experimental batch (~55 l, 9% KOH equivalent) was produced and transesterification of raw pressed sunflower oil (~375 l) was carried out at the facilities of Biotech LTD LLC (the village of Horodyshche, Boryspilsky area).
