The purpose of the work is to determine the main factors that affect the combustion of hydrocarbon fuel and the decomposition of rubber and polymer materials in a pyrolysis reactor, to develop: a mathematical model of heat and mass transfer processes during the ignition of a particle of hydrocarbon fuel in conditions that correspond to the furnace space of boiler units; recommendations on increasing the efficiency of coal fuel burning and disposal of used tires. Research methods are mathematical-statistical and computational-comparative. The temperature distribution along the radius of the particle at the moment of ignition and the dependence of the ignition delay time on the ambient temperature and the diameters of the water-coal fuel particles were investigated. The mathematical model of heat and mass transfer processes during the ignition of a particle of hydrocarbon fuel in conditions that correspond to the furnace space of boiler units, recommendations on increasing the efficiency of coal fuel combustion were developed.
