Studies of diesters of p-terphenyldicarboxylic acid showed that when halogen atoms are introduced into the alcohol residues of molecules of chiral diesters of p-TFDA, the higher investigated members of the homologous series of terphenyldicarboxylates have the highest known values of twisting ability in the inclined smectic mesophase and do not show negative effects in a practically significant range concentrations; in FELC, a significant dependence of the Kh on the helicoid pitch exists only for large pitches near the high-temperature phase transition, and at a distance from it, Kh is almost independent of the pitch in a wide range of its values. New iodinated heptamethine cyanine dyes were synthesized. Their spectroscopic and biological studies demonstrate an unexpected effect of increasing of the number of I atoms on the photodynamic destruction of cells of gram-positive and gram-negative microbial pathogens. Analysis of crystalline structures containing fluorenonophane and chlorine-derived solvent molecules suggests that halogen bonds are very weak intermolecular interactions, but their presence can affect the balance of intermolecular forces in the formation of supramolecular host-guest complexes. On the example of halogen-containing pyrrolyl acetic acid derivative, which is a structural analogue of the compound that showed antiviral activity, there were investigated and developed a strategy of the study of the effect of stressors on the qualitative and quantitative composition of synthetic substances. As a result of the work in 2020-2021, a patent application for an invention was filed, 17 articles and 6 abstracts in conference proceedings were published.
