A total of 106 amphibians and reptiles were collected, in which 1314 specimens of helminths were found. A total of 46 species of parasites were identified, including one species of cestodes, three species of monogeneans, three species of scrapers, 20 species of nematodes and 19 species of trematodes. For each group of helminths, primers and protocols were selected in order to obtain the nucleotide sequences of the mitochondrial gene cox1 and the nuclear gene 18S. At the moment, the sequences of the monogeneans Polystoma integerrinum and Polystoma viridis, the cestodes Ophiotaenia europea, the acanthocephalan Acanthocephalus falcatus, the nematodes Oswaldocruzia filiformis and Cosmocerca ornata and the trematodes Macrodera longicollis and Telorchis assulae have been obtained. In addition, the geographic locations of all identified parasites have been published in the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) and a preliminary statistical analysis of helminth communities has been conducted. Thus, during the first stage of the project, the main pool of the most common parasites of amphibians and reptiles was collected and the method of obtaining their genetic sequences was adjusted.
