The purpose of the research is to substantiate and develop technological and organizational measures to increase the operational resource of sewage tunnels and collectors of the communal economy. To assess the corrosion resistance of structures and materials, standard physical and mechanical test methods (laboratory and natural) were used. The methods of modeling and the theory of probabilities, qualitative, quantitative and comparative analyzes were used to assess the feasibility and economic efficiency of the implementation of the monitoring system. The main reasons for the destruction of the complex of sewage networks and structures, which provoke the occurrence of accidents, were studied, and they were classified according to the following factors: production factors; durability factors of materials of the linear part of the network; organizational and technological factors; operating factors; external operating environment factors. The low efficiency of highly functional cement–modified concretes for providing primary protection against the action of the corrosive environment of the collectors has been proven. It was established that the most dangerous in terms of the durability of the coating is the presence of defects in its structure. Based on the results of laboratory and field tests, the method of forming multi–layer composite polymer and porcelain stoneware protective coatings with specified properties has been developed. The practical significance of the research results creates prerequisites and scientific and applied principles for evaluating and improving the stability of the functioning of the complex of sewage networks and structures on the basis of complex monitoring.
