The purpose of the work is the synthesis of new copper(I) and silver carbene complexes, the study of their antimicrobial properties, and the search for pathways to synthesize chiral compounds based on carbenes. Research methods are synthetic, spectral (NMR spectroscopy), analytical (chromatographic, elemental analysis), computational (quantum chemical research), biological (antimicrobial studies). Results of research: The synthesis of carbene-phenanthroline complexes of copper(I) and silver was carried out, including fluorine-containing by the interaction of o-phenanthroline complexes of metals with azolium carbenoid salts in the presence of potassium carbonate. The thermal effects of the formation of dimers of fluorine-containing carbenes were calculated using the DFT method as a criterion for their stability. On four examples, the X-ray structures of carbene-phenanthroline complexes were determined, which turned out to be either ionic or polarized covalent. High antimicrobial activity of carbene-complex compounds was found, including fluorine-containing compounds, and the ionic carbene-phenanthroline complex of copper(I) iodide turned out to be the most active among the known copper(I) carbene complexes. Initial salt compounds for the synthesis of nucleophilic carbenes and chiral compounds were obtained. The field of application is the preparative synthesis of carbene complexes and their derivatives.
