Computational hydrodynamics methods were used to calculate the hydro-gas-dynamic and rotordynamic characteristics of seals and bearings, and the rotordynamic coefficients were obtained using the perturbation method. The design experiment method was used to analyze the effect of geometry on sealing, friction loses and dynamic characteristics. The problem of hydroelasticity for seals and bearings made of polymer materials was solved using the method of successive approximations. Flow rate, temperature and dynamic characteristics were obtained in experimental studies. Such a complex approach to calculation using computational methods and experiments allowed improving the existing designs of seals and bearings.
