As of 2022, diagnostic monitoring has been implemented in 8 districts of the river basins of Ukraine, the percentage of monitored water bodies is 5.2%. Accordingly, there is a need to introduce the best practices of the European Union in terms of grouping surface water bodies and disseminating the assessment of ecological and chemical status. To date, aggregation methods have been tested in the Don and Dniester river basins and need to be implemented in other river basins and in Ukraine as a whole. Within the framework of this research work, the aggregation of surface water bodies will be carried out in the river basins of the Dnipro, Danube, Vistula, Southern Bug, Azov, Black Sea and Crimean rivers.
