Optimal conditions for the synthetic procedure have been found. The methodology for the synthesis of the supramolecular complex of cucurbit[6]uril with 1-methylcyclopropene was optimized. The conditions for the maximum release of 1-MCP from the complex were found, which consisted in its decomposition in an aqueous solution with the addition of sodium acetate, which increases solubility, and ethyl alcohol, which displaces the active substance from the complex. To ensure the possibility of the postponed analysis of 1-MCP, as well as to quantify the content of 1-MCP in the complex, a procedure for chemical modification (derivatization) of 1-MCP was developed to transform it into a more chemically stable substance and further HPLC analysis of this substance. A new multi-component supramolecular drug Oberig light based on the complex of 1-MCP with α-cyclodextrin has been developed, which differs from our previously developed Oberig pro in terms of ease of use under real conditions. In order to control the content of 1-MCP in storage, a GC method for the determination of 1-MCP in gas-air mixtures was developed, i.e., both the methods of air sampling and chromatography conditions were selected. The new drug Oberig light was then successfully tested in vegetable storage along with other drugs based on supramolecular complexes with 1-MCP. It has been shown that the new drug is comparable with the previously developed drug Oberig pro in terms of effectiveness, but it differs from the analogues by the ease of use and a lower cost.
