The purpose of the work is to develop scientific and practical approaches to ecological assessment and forecasting of the ecological state of ecosystems located in the zone of potential flooding based on the use of space monitoring technologies and geoinformation systems. Research methods - mathematical modeling, field (expeditionary) research, statistical analysis, interpretation of Earth remote sensing data, geoinformation monitoring. As a result of the work carried out, the following was carried out: analysis of current scientific and practical research in the field of environmental safety, nature management, management of measures in emergency situations of an ecological nature and their main results; collection and analysis of environmental information about the state of the territories of the Carpathian region located in the zone of potential flooding; carrying out an ecological assessment of the ecological state of the territories located in the zone of potential flooding based on developed scientific and practical approaches with the use of space monitoring technologies and geo-information systems, followed by the formation of recommendations for the management of ecological safety and the prevention of emergency ecological situations in the studied territories; approaches to flood forecasting in mountainous and foothill areas are proposed; a system of mobile ecological monitoring of potential flooding was created for the upper part of the Dniester river basin.
