For the first time in Ukraine, the problem of HIV resistance in children was highlighted through a complex molecular genetic analysis of the HIV population circulating at the current stage of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Ukraine. For the first time in Ukraine, the subtype structure of the HIV population circulating among HIV-infected children has been established. The predominance of HIV-1 subtype A (91.3%), subtype B occurs in 8.7% of cases. For the first time in Ukraine, the frequency of acquired HIV resistance to antiretroviral drugs (ARV) in HIV-positive children was determined, which is 5.0%. It was found that in almost 30% of cases, the virological ineffectiveness of therapy is associated with violations of the medication regimen, i.e., insufficient adherence of parents to ART is a risk factor that affects the formation of HIV drug resistance in children and remains a significant problem in the treatment of HIV-positive children in Ukraine. For the first time in Ukraine, at the world level, scientific research was carried out, which formed the basis of the innovative development "Fundamental and practical bases for determining the resistance of the human immunodeficiency virus to antiretroviral drugs and improving the system of epidemiologic surveillance of HIV infection in Ukraine", which was awarded the Prize of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine ( Order of the CMU of June 16, 2021 No. 657-r). The results of the work were published in 3 reports at scientific and practical and international conferences, 7 reports at meetings, 10 lectures. 4 articles were published in foreign journals, 6 publications in collections of theses of domestic scientific conferences, 1 theses in the collection of an international conference. Defended 1 doctoral thesis. A utility model patent application has been filed.
