The decisive importance of metallurgy for the economy of Ukraine as a basic branch of industry has been confirmed. The problems of the mining and metallurgical complex of Ukraine in the conditions of military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine are shown. The method of expert-mathematical assessment of the state of large industrial systems (Harrington's method) has been improved, and a comprehensive assessment of the state and development prospects of the mining and metallurgical complex of Ukraine has been performed. The project of the concept of sustainable development of the mining and metallurgical complex of Ukraine for the near, medium and long term has been developed.
