The practical value of the work lies in the development of a complex preparation of combined action for the treatment of wound surfaces, which can be used for both clean and purulent wounds of various etiologies. A general scheme for obtaining a natural biomedical carrier from leather waste was developed. Different types of wastes were tested - limed pelt, delimed pelt and fleshings. The antimicrobial component prevented biofilm formation of bacteria caused opportunistic infections. The biomedical carrier was tested for biocompatibility using HEK293 cell line. The obtained data indicate that collagen-based preparations are able to promote the attachment of HEK293 cells in vitro during incubation of cells in the absence of serum in the culture medium. The effectiveness of the preparation was confirmed in the treatment of animals in the inpatient conditions in veterinary clinic. The use of the preparation halved the time of tissue regeneration. The development of such a product solves several problems - obtaining a promising preparation for the treatment of wounds, a productive way to treat leather industry waste, and the possibility of obtaining and using a collagen matrix for biomedical and cosmoseutical purposes in the future.
