The object of research is the National Museum of the History of Ukraine. The purpose of the work is the study of the history of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine and the formation of its stock collection, the introduction into the scientific circulation of new scientific information about the persons involved in the creation and development of the museum, individual museum objects and stock collections of the NMIU, historiographical analysis and systematization of the works of predecessors. Research methods – general scientific methods: logical analysis, synthesis, induction and deduction, classification and generalization; especially historical methods - comparative-historical, problem-chronological, statistical, etc. The results of the NDR – archival materials, photo documents, materials of the museum library, data from inventory books and other accounting documentation of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine and publications on the history of the museum were analyzed and systematized. A number of archival sources, photo documents, scientific information about museum objects and separate collections of the NMIU fund collection, persons involved in the creation and development of the museum have been put into scientific circulation.
