Natural gas is not a carbon-free energy source, but it has the lowest carbon footprint among popular liquid fuels and can become an intermediate green energy source in the transition to low-carbon energy consumption. The high efficiency of using natural gas requires its proper preparation during extraction, including separation of excess moisture of water and heavy hydrocarbons, strict control all the way to the consumer in order to prevent possible deviations of gas quality from the established norms and effective distribution to consumers, including pipeless methods of natural gas supply - in a compressed and liquefied state - are gaining great relevance. The research project carried out a study of the process of separating harmful impurities at the stage of preparing natural gas for transportation. Special attention was paid to natural gas quality control - a hygrometer was developed to measure the dew point of water and hydrocarbons, and a filter was developed and certified that reduces the impact of harmful impurities on the accuracy of measurements.
