For the first time, based on the study of the epidemic process of influenza over the past three years, which took place against the background of the COVID-19 pandemic and the war, the characteristic features of its course in Ukraine were determined, in particular, a sharp decrease in the incidence of influenza, starting from mid-March 2020 due to the introduction of quarantine measures, the complete absence of influenza activity in the 2020-2021 season and a sharp decrease in the intensity of the epidemic process after the start of the war in the 2021-2022 season. For the first time in Ukraine, the etiological structure of the population of influenza viruses in the 2019-2020 and 2021-2022 seasons has been determined, which were caused mainly by influenza viruses A(H1N1)pdm - 85.6% and A(H3N2) - 91.7% of all subtyped influenza viruses, respectively, which was consistent with global trends. For the first time in Ukraine, phylogenetic trees were constructed using the results of genome sequencing of the 2019-2022 and 2021-2022 influenza viruses, and 3D modeling of the hemagglutinin of influenza A(H3N2) and A(H1N1)pdm viruses, which circulated in Ukraine during epidemic influenza seasons, was carried out 2019-2020 and 2021-2022, which made it possible to create a scientific flu forecast for the 2022-2023 season. The applied bioinformatics approaches made it possible to improve virological surveillance and provide effective etiological forecasting of the causative agent of influenza epidemics in the country. The absence of neuraminidase inhibitor-resistant influenza viruses that circulated in the country in 2020-2022 was determined, which is a guarantee of the effectiveness of these medicinal drugs.
