The purpose of the work is to develop the design of a dielectric metasurface that has a polarization-degenerate spectrum of eigenmodes. Further application of the developed metasurface to increase the efficiency of detection of chiral compounds. As a result of the implementation of the first stage of the project: 1) The theory of the phenomenon of polarization degeneracy in periodic nanostructures is developed. Analytical models were obtained that showed the fundamental possibility of broadband polarization degeneracy of waveguides and surface waves on dielectric and plasmonic two-dimensional structures, respectively. 2) Numerical models and software codes were developed, which were used to calculate and optimize designs of dielectric metasurface with polarization-degenerate spectrum, as well as their comprehensive study, namely: - Maps of the dependence of the geometric parameters of the metasurface on the required values of the degree of polarization degeneracy and localization, which allows you to immediately obtain the necessary design of the metasurface for a specific task. - Designs of dielectric metasurfaces having a polarization-degenerate spectrum with a certain level of degree of localization, from silicon, zinc oxide, titanium oxide in the visible and infrared ranges, ceramics in the microwave range and for various values of permittivity. - Design of silicon metasurface on quartz substrate and ceramic metasurface on Rogers substrate with polarization degenerate spectrum.
