To increase the power of engines and simultaneously ensure reliability, a comprehensive approach to improving the work process, increasing the efficiency of air supply and improving structures and systems taking into account thermal and dynamic loads on the elements of the cylinder-piston group has been implemented. The results of the performed research are aimed at ensuring effective and reliable operation of the engine of the main power plant of domestic armored vehicles with a capacity of 1100 and the engine of the auxiliary power plant with a capacity of 14 kW, while improving the indicators of fuel economy and environmental friendliness. In the work, based on the generalization of the current state, the analysis of the level of indicators and characteristics, the identification of problems that must be solved immediately to improve the technical level, recommendations were developed and, on their basis, solutions were proposed for improving the mixture formation, fuel supply and air supply, increasing the indicators of reliability, power, and economy of the main a power plant based on a 6TD diesel engine with a cylinder volume of 16.3 liters and an auxiliary power plant based on a 468A-1 diesel engine with a cylinder volume of 0.7 liters. The application possibilities for the 6TD diesel engine of the supercharging system using the drive compressor from the electric motor and the free turbocharger have been determined and justified. It is proposed to increase the performance of the diesel engine of the auxiliary power plant by influencing the work process. The scientific research work on comprehensive improvement of reliability, power and efficiency indicators of power plants of domestic armored vehicles was carried out in the interests of national security and defense of Ukraine.
