The purpose of the work is to study the current hydro-ecological state of water bodies (which are under anthropogenic influence) and develop ways to bring them into a "good" state in accordance with the provisions of the EU Water Framework Directive. Research methods are statistical, electronic - information, cartographic, graphic - analytical methods; methods of field measurements of hydrological and hydrochemical characteristics; methods for assessing indicators of anthropogenic load, water quality and environmental risk indicators. The novelty of the work lies in testing existing and developing new methods and methodological approaches to assessing hydromorphological characteristics, hydroecological state and environmental risks of pollution of water bodies under the influence of anthropogenic load based on the provisions of the EU Water Framework and Nitrate Directives. The results of the work can be used in institutions of ecology, natural resources and basin Water Resources Managements. Scientific and practical results are implemented in the Basin Water Resources Management of the Black Sea and Lower Danube rivers (Act on the use of results of December 12, 2022). The economic effect is to reduce socio-economic losses in the restoration of water bodies and purification of its waters from pollution.
