Karazin Kharkiv National University popup.description2  The purpose of the work is to build physical and mathematical models for the study of electrodynamic characteristics of Bragg and two-dimensional photonic crystal structures containing hyperbolic and gyrotropic elements. Binary and ternary one-dimensional periodic structures are considered. Dispersion equations based on the transfer matrix method were obtained. The dispersion diagrams for binary and ternary periodic structures were calculated. It is shown that the band gap and the range of total omnidirectional reflection of one-dimensional ternary structures are increased compared to the binary periodic structure. Modified photonic crystal waveguides with a hollow core with double and triple claddings are considered. The dispersion diagrams of modified waveguides with double and triple shells were calculated and compared. Spatial distributions of the field were obtained for different values of dielectric constant of additional layers. A two-dimensional photonic crystal waveguide with different values of the radii of the vacuum cylinders at the boundaries of the waveguide channel is considered. Surface odd and even modes are considered. Dispersive properties of eigen electromagnetic modes in a semiconductor nanotube filled with a nonmagnetic dielectric and placed in a coaxial permanent magnetic field were studied.
