A variant of the construction of a compound nozzle with a share of the outer part of 65-75% to the total nozzle area was developed and proposed to replace the cylindrical nozzles of oxygen lances, which perform the function of additional sources of influence on the bath and for the oxidation of CO in the waste gases, which can allow to increase the amount of scrap in the charge by 30-60 kg/t of steel. As an available means of qualitative evaluation of the performance of new designs of blowing nozzles, a method of recording the electrical conductivity of the flame formed by the output gases between the nozzle and the converter neck was proposed. For the registered parameter, a mathematical model of the correspondence of the change in the amount of CO in the source gases was developed.
