The results of experimental studies of both the magnetron discharge and the properties of synthesized coatings, including physical-mechanical and medical-biological properties, are presented. The results of studies of the influence of the composition and surface properties of Ta metal films, Ta2O5 oxide, and TaON oxynitride on the functional characteristics of these coatings and their bactericidal activity in in vitro tests are presented. The results of studies of the effect of surface treatment of Ta2O5 coatings with argon ions and an electron beam on the structure and surface properties of these coatings applied by reactive magnetron sputtering and its correlation with the response of immune cells in in vitro tests are presented.
