The subject of research is methods and means of measuring the electrodynamic characteristics of ground objects and means of reducing their visibility. The purpose of the work is to develop and test the methods of using the model of the 8 mm range radiometric measuring complex in experiments to assess the completeness and effectiveness of means of reducing the visibility of complex ground objects in laboratory and field conditions. Research methods are methods of diffraction theory, artificial dielectrics and signal and image processing together with methods of experimental radiophysics. Results of the work are follows: a mathematical model of a multi-functional layered absorbing coating was created, which takes into account the results of measuring the electrodynamic characteristics of the coating samples and its individual components, the methods of using a model radiometric measuring complex of 8 mm range to establish the electrodynamic characteristics of ground objects and means of reducing radiometric visibility in laboratory and field conditions, formulated requirements and recommendations for sites where measurements will take place, weather conditions that allow for maximum visibility of the object, and planned ways to improve the radiometer. The theory of metaferrite was also used to improve the electrodynamic characteristics of a patch antenna in which metaferrite serves as a substrate.
