The optimization of the application of electron beams and bremsstrahlung (BS) and effective control of their characteristics in radiation processes formed the method of the research. The effect of the thickness of the Ta and Pb layers on the increase in the permeability of the BS induced by electrons with an energy of 7.5 MeV in a converter made of four layers of Ta+H2O(2mm)+Fe(2mm)+Pb is studied. It is shown that due to the absorption of low-energy photons in heavy elements, in the case of an increase in the thickness of Ta and Pb, the average energy of BS increases. A combined methodology for calculating the radiation exposure of large objects has been developed. The Monte Carlo method (PENELOPE package) is used to calculate the absorbed doses in the object from a single element of a small converter with specified thicknesses of the target layers. Absorbed doses in the object are determined by summing up the doses created by N single elements of the converter placed along the extended converter. This makes it possible to optimize the densities of the electron beam, which falls on the long-range converter, to minimize the inhomogeneity of the absorbed dose (DUR) over the volume of the irradiated object, without Monte Carlo calculations of the BS from the entire converter. The optimal densities of electron beams along the converter are determined during two- and four-way irradiation of objects of given sizes with a minimum of DUR. It is shown that for four-way irradiation, for optimal values of the electron beam density and the characteristics of a single converter, the thickness of polyethylene is 1.6 times greater (transverse dimensions 80x80 cm2) than for two-way irradiation (50x50 cm2) at DUR < 1.5.
