The processes of the formation of a wall supersonic jet, its ejection properties and the structure of compaction jumps on the walls of the mixing chamber of an axisymmetric ejector, depending on the value of high pressure, were studied; the causes and conditions of the instability of the supersonic jet in the exit section of the ejector are determined and the influence of this instability on the efficiency of the ejector is estimated. The thermodynamic processes in the forechamber of the ejector during the interaction of the supersonic jet with the wall were studied, the optimal geometric parameters of the forechamber were determined, which ensure effective throttling of high pressure under the condition of ensuring the necessary mass flow rate of the ejecting gas. A flexible multi-functional experimental complex has been created that allows you to adequately investigate the processes of filling a car airbag with cold air, which simulates the use of pyrotechnics and makes the experiment much safer and cheaper. The obtained experimental data are in good agreement with the calculated ones, both in terms of airbag inflation and ejection coefficient, as well as in terms of frequency characteristics.
