The object of research is the process of conducting and processing observations by the optical-electronic observation station (type 3 telescope). The purpose of the work is to study the penetrating power of the new telescope depending on the exposure, to assess the accuracy of the received angular coordinates of the observed space objects, to study the quality of the image formation of space objects throughout the image plane (detection of optical comatic aberration), to check the pointing speed and smoothness escorting low-orbit spacecraft. Research methods – methods of experiment planning, probability theory and mathematical statistics. The study of the penetrating power of the telescopes was carried out on the basis of the analysis of images obtained with different exposures (a total of 15 exposures for each telescope). The analysis of the accuracy of the measurements was carried out on satellites whose orbit data are provided by the ILRS service. The guidance speed and smoothness of the escort of low-orbit spacecraft were analyzed. The parameters of the movement speeds were estimated at different starting positions of the mount and the pointing point. The smoothness of the tracking was assessed by the straightness of the images of star streaks during the tracking of low-orbit satellites.
