Aim of the study: monitoring of the dynamics of the natural processes for ecosystems of Kaniv Nature Reserve and adjacent territories within the “Chronicle of Nature” program, and some other protected areas of the Middle Prydniprovya. Tasks of the study: detection of the new populations and control of the known populations of the vulnerable species and settlements protected by Directives of the EU; evaluation of the current conditions of protected areas in the Kaniv Nature Reserve environs; new protected areas organization; researches for biogeochemical processes of Nature Reserve ecosystems functioning. Methods of the study: field research (floristic route, geobotanical, population, faunistic, phenological) for distribution and ecology of rare and usual species of the plants and animals in the Middle Prydniprovya, literature, social networks and sites analysis. We have described and mapped the settlement plots of the rare plant species and animals in the measures of the Nature Reserve, and have described the trends of their population development. The same studies were obtained for some other places in the surroundings of Kaniv Nature Reserve in the Kyiv and Cherkasy regions. The complex examination was obtained for some existing and perspective protected areas in the Middle Prydniprovya. We have characterized their flora and the current condition of the plant cover. We have studied the conditions of the populations of some protected rare plant species in the Kaniv Nature Reserve and the Middle Prydniprovya. New settlements of rare plant species were found in this region. The comparative analysis of biogeochemical processes was made for the natural ecosystems of Kaniv Nature Reserve and Goloisiivsky National Park.
