The existing scientific approaches and technical means in the field of air monitoring are studied. An indirect method for measuring the concentration of air components based on the basic laws of gas dynamics and taking into account the meteorological characteristics of the surface layer of the atmosphere was developed, which provides high accuracy study of air composition without the use of gas analyzers. For the first time, models for forecasting the concentration of air components based on discrete Fourier transform and retrospective information, which has innovative significance in the fields of ecology, energy, medicine, agriculture, etc., have been created. The structure of the intelligent air monitoring system based on the Smart City concept has been developed. A test sample of the measuring module of the intelligent air pollution monitoring system based on the Smart City concept has been produced. Evaluation of the metrological characteristics of the sensors measuring the concentration of harmful impurities and meteorological parameters of the air pollution monitoring system was carried out. The functional capabilities of the air pollution monitoring system based on Wi-Fi/GSM transmitters have been expanded. The developed hardware and software tools have significant advantages over analogues, namely: wider functionality, much smaller dimensions and 5-7 times lower cost. Their use will make it possible to modernize the atmospheric air monitoring system at all levels in accordance with European requirements and standards, which will significantly increase its effectiveness.
