The purpose of the work is the analysis of two-position (Antarctica - Arctic) ELF measurements of thunderstorm activity stimulated by a super-powerful volcanic eruption, the study of long-term changes in air temperature in the Arctic region, and HF radio oceanography of the sea surface on board of the scientific research vessel (SRV). ULF registration of super-powerful thunderstorm discharges in the Arctic and Antarctica was carried out during the super-powerful eruption of the Tonga volcano (January 15, 2022). The emission sources were recovered by the method of two-position direction finding. It is established that the number of super-powerful discharges during the eruption exceeds the planetary number of super-powerful lightning. According to the data of the worldwide network of meteorological stations (more than 10,000 sensors) long-term trends of temperature changes have been reproduced in latitude interval of 10 degrees in the Arctic regions. It was established that significant warming is observed in the sub polar region for latitudes greater than 70 degree. On the contrary, near the North Pole, the air temperature decreases. For the first time, original radio oceanographic research was carried out on board the “Noosphere” vessel during its moving across the Drake Passage. The radiation of a special HF transmitter installed on the UAS "Akademik Vernadsky" was used as a sounding signal. Spectral features of signals reflected from the ionosphere and scattered by the sea surface were studied depending on the velocity and direction of movement of the SRV. Theoretic simulation of the effects of scattering of HF signals by an agitated sea surface was carried out. Product Description popup.authors Budanov Oleh V.
