The purpose of the research is to assess the possibility of using RS801D smartphones (SIGMA MOBILE X-TREME PQ139) at mining enterprises in accordance with the requirements of Ukrainian legislation on labor protection and industrial safety. Research methods - analysis of regulatory and technical documentation, experimental research. The analysis of the requirements for the conditions for the use of smartphones in mining enterprises was carried out, the technical characteristics and the scope of their application were studied. The conditions under which it is possible to use RS801D smartphones (SIGMA MOBILE X-TREME PQ139) at mining enterprises have been determined. As a result of the examination of the submitted documentation, analysis of regulatory documents and technical inspection of the RS801D smartphone sample (SIGMA MOBILE X-TREME PQ139), the following was established: - smartphones RS801D (PQ139F) belong to portable electrical devices of general purpose and do not have a mining version; - RS801D (PQ139F) smartphones do not have parts that generate a spark in normal operation due to the integration of electrical parts into the sealed casings of smartphones; - smartphones RS801D (PQ139F) have, according to the JIS / IEC standard, the degree of protection against dust and water resistance IP68 (according to GOST 14254) in accordance with the requirements of clause I.2 of GOST 22782.3 and are intended for long-term use under water at a depth of more than 1 m.
