The object of the study is the safety of mining operations in the mining areas of coal mines. The purpose of the work is to develop recommendations for ensuring gas safety during the opening of the isolated excavation site 2 of the southern bench of block 7 with an extinguished fire. Research methods - generalization and analysis of results, methods of mathematics. statistics, calculations according to standard methods. As a result of the work, the progress of the fire extinguishing works in the created space of the 2nd southern bench of block 7 of PJSC «Management of the mine «POKROVSKE» was analyzed. "Recommendations for ensuring gas safety during the opening of the isolated excavation site 2 of the southern bench of block 7 with an extinguished fire" were developed. Two variants of dissection of an isolated recess area are offered. It is recommended to choose the option of dissection of the site at a technical meeting. As a result of the application of the developed recommendations, the safety of mining operations is ensured, which is of great socio-economic and ecological importance.
