The obtained scientific result, its novelty, scientific level, significance and practical application. The main stages and features of the formation of Ukrainian cultural studies are traced, and promising directions of its development are determined. The complex of knowledge about historical stages and applied forms of cultural development of the Ukrainian people is combined. The determining role of the individual in culture is proven, the life and work of outstanding representatives of Ukrainian culture are analyzed (using the example of the cultural and educational activities of D.
