Chebotarev Institute of Gerontology National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine" popup.description2 When modeling insulin resistance (IR), as a result of biochemical, histological, histochemical, immunohistochemical and ultrastructural studies, a complex of destructive-dystrophic, inflammatory and edematous changes was revealed in target-cells, which developed against the background of high rates of apoptosis intensity, which was more pronounced and deep in old animals. Although the effects of NSE were different in examined organs of young and old rats, its effectiveness was proven to normalize the morpho-functional state of the pancreas, liver, kidneys, heart and brain of rats, as well as the indicator of the intensity of apoptosis in them. The effectiveness of the use of NSE has been proven for rats of the older age group. The main quantitative and qualitative markers of pathomorphological changes in cells were developed in the simulation of IR and type 2 diabetes and under the conditions of NSE application in rats of various ages. With the help of 2-factor variance analysis (2-way ANOVA), the leading role of the age factor (AF) in changes in the main morphometric indicators, which characterize the development of destructive, dystrophic and inflammatory processes, as well as violations of the secretory function of beta-insulocytes, was proven in almost all the studied organs. The large contribution of VF to changes in the size of TUNEL-positive cells of various types, which characterizes the intensity of apoptosis in them, allows us to recommend this indicator as an integral and most informative in the general comparative assessment of the processes occurring in the modeling of this pathology and its correction at different ages.
