The subject of the research: research methodology of metal-polymer hybrid sliding tribosystems and the development of new calculation methods for assessing the contact strength, wear and resource of metal-polymer gears and sliding bearings. The purpose of the project is to develop methods for predictive assessment of bearing capacity (contact strength), wear and resource of the specified types of metal-polymer gears and sliding bearings using the results of model triboexperimental studies of the wear resistance of known and newest polymer composite materials for tribological purposes. New generalized comprehensive methods of research of MP gears (spur and helical, worm) for contact strength, wear and resource have been developed, which take into account the following factors influencing their performance: parity of teeth engagement, wear of teeth on the parameters of contact interaction during engagement, tooth correction, type of polymer material and a new generalized method of calculating the MP of sliding bearings (radial and linear) on contact strength, wear and resource, taking into account the influence of technological (non-circularity different types of shaft and bushing) and operational (wear) deviation of element contours from the idealized circular, as well as the type of polymer material of the bushing on these performance characteristics. The developed methods can be applied to optimize the specified MP tribotechnical systems according to the criteria of load-bearing capacity (contact strength), wear and resource, taking into account the specified factors affecting their performance and the use of appropriate polymer materials. The results of the conducted model experimental studies of wear resistance are new in both scientific and applied aspects, as they cover the main polymeric materials of tribotechnical purpose.
