The purpose of the research work is to update the content of informal and formal education in higher military educational institutions, taking into account the experience of NATO member countries. Research methods. The following methods were used in the process of work: analysis of domestic and foreign philosophical, psychological, pedagogical and methodical literature - to clarify the state of development of the problem; abstraction and specification to define the concept of informal and formal education in higher military educational institutions, taking into account the experience of NATO member countries; synthesis, systematization, comparison, generalization - to study the essence and content of informal and formal education in higher military educational institutions, taking into account the experience of NATO member countries. To implement the tasks, the methods of theoretical and empirical research were used, which mutually enriched each other and ensured the achievement of the goal of the research work.
