The purpose of the work is to obtain new fundamental knowledge about the interaction of electromagnetic and acoustic waves with the environment: the surface of the earth, sea and objects on them; atmospheric boundary layer and various meteorological formations; ionosphere and its heterogeneities, including traces of meteors; marine environment, its floor; complex natural and artificial reflectors; various biological objects. Research methods are based on theoretical experimental studies of wave propagation conditions under the action of internal and external factors, development of new methods for solving problems of remote diagnostics, analysis and generalization of experimental and theoretical results, development of phenomena models and methods of remote diagnostics of objects, environment, methane and gas hydrates emissions, meteor radio communication, wave impact on various biological objects. Results that have scientific and practical value have been obtained. New laws of influence of the environment in different conditions on space-time non-specific electric and acoustic interactions in the atmosphere-sea-matter system have been established, new radio and acoustic methods and means of studying radio and acoustic wave propagation in the environment have been developed. They contain theoretical analysis, mathematical, numerical modeling of propagation, absorption of radio and acoustic waves in the environment, and their scattering by different objects.
