The purpose of the work: development of a methodology for obtaining a porous metal material based on copper using vapor phase removal of zinc from hardened Cu-Zn alloy precursors. Research methods: scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray fluorescence analysis, X-ray phase analysis, determination of the specific surface using low-temperature N2 adsorption/desorption. Thermodynamic modeling of the properties of phases and phase transformations in melts of the Cu-Zn system was carried out within the framework of the CALPHAD method. Equipment for vapor phase distillation of volatile components in vacuum (VPD method) from binary precursor alloys was developed and installed at the Department of Physical Chemistry. This equipment was used to obtain metallic materials based on copper with an open porous structure by the method of vapor phase distillation of zinc from Cu-Zn precursor alloys hardened from the liquid state. The chemical and phase composition, as well as the microstructure of the precursor alloys and the resulting porous materials, were studied. The influence of distillation parameters on the morphology of porous metallic materials was studied: specific surface area, pore size.
